About Me

Hello, my dear friends, my name is Isabel Konrad, and I am here for you.

In July 2022, I completed my training as a systemic equine-assisted coach, and the year before, I graduated from a distance learning program to become a personal coach. My first goosebump moment with equine-assisted work was in 2011 in Portugal, on my very first day at the Hipico Centre Pinetrees.

The focus there was on equine therapy for children and young adults—touching moments I will never forget. Privately, I’ve had countless magical moments with horses, which have been part of my life since I could walk (and maybe even before). These moments continue to touch my soul deeply.

Since 2005, my main profession has been as a kindergarten teacher. Without heart and soul, I would be lost in this work. At first glance, my two careers may not seem directly connected—or related to you. But on a second look, the parallels are endless.

Children and horses are highly intuitive, energetic souls who thrive in trust-filled relationships. They live in the here and now, something adults often struggle with due to countless plans, worries, and fears.

In equine-assisted coaching, this circle comes full. Many survival strategies we use as adults originate in childhood. What could enhance coaching more than a foundation of psychological, educational, and equine intuition? Using my experience, expertise, and above all empathy, I want to help you understand yourself better and feel more at ease in this often fast and superficial world.

"Whatever you decide to do, you will be succesful, I'm sure!"

These were the words of Beverly Gibbons, my trainer in Portugal, when I left. At the time, I couldn’t believe them. I was in a very dark place and never imagined that what seemed like the end was actually the beginning of such a magical journey.

Uh... please don't get me wrong: By "magical," I don't mean the path wasn’t incredibly rocky—or that it isn’t still an illusion at times, even today (that's what we call life).

What I mean is that I’ve been fortunate to experience so many magical moments—especially in connection with animals, and above all, the soulful bond with horses—that, in hindsight, make me feel more at peace. Without the tolls life demands here and there, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Gratitude is a key to getting back up after you've been knocked down. Even kids in kindergarten know this—have you ever seen one fall three times and say, “I guess walking isn’t for me; I’ll just stop trying”? Unbelievable but true: In every pile of muck life hands us, there’s a hidden gem! I’ve come to understand the art of finding the gift, even in seemingly hopeless situations.
